A gale of resignation hit the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Ondo State in the outgone week. While Mr. Banji Okunomo, former Caretaker Chairman and PDP Governorship aspirant from Ilaje led a horde of his supporters out of the party to Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) earlier in the week, another big fish within the PDP camp and leader of the party in Irele Local Government Area, Barr. Remi Olatubora has also resigned his membership of the party.
While speculations are rife that Olatubora is leaving PDP for ZLP, the former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State is yet to indicate categorically where he might be leading his supporters to.
However, it has been confirmed that Barr. Remi Olatubora has tendered his letter of resignation at his ward and had handed over the letter to the ward Chairman of PDP, Elder Medunoye.
The Iyansan born Lawyer and politician worked in different capacities as board Chairman and Commissioner under the administration of Governor Segun Mimiko and at a time was Chairman Ondo State Sports Council.
If the learned counsel joins ZLP as speculated , it will be “a double minus ” for PDP in Ondo South Senatorial district which was once acclaimed as PDP stronghold.
