Gbajabiamila announces resignation from House of Representatives

Former Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, has announced his resignation from the House of Representatives.

Gbajabiamila announced his resignation on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

He explained that his decision to resign is for him to assume his new role as Chief of Staff to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Earlier on Wednesday it was reported that Gbajabiamila’s resignation letter was presented on the floor of the house and read by the speaker, Tajudeen Abbas.

Gbajabiamila was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2003 and represents the Surulere I constituency of Lagos State.

He was the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives in the 7th National Assembly.

He has been elected for six consecutive terms to represent the people of Surulere 1 Federal Constituency of Lagos in the National Assembly.
