Igbo group to interface with G-5 governors on peace in Nigeria

The fourth edition of the Igbo International Christmas Retreat, organised by an Igbo think tank group, Nzuko Ndigbo, will feature interface with the G-5 governors.

The retreat, which will be hosted by Abia State at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, the state capital, tomorrow, has its focus on achieving peace in Nigeria.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the think-tank team, Prof. Madubuike Ezeibe, made this known, yesterday, when he addressed journalists at Umuahia on the retreat, which has the leader of Nzuko Ndigbo, Chief Chuks Ibegbu, as the Local Organising Chairman.

Ezeibe, who announced the theme of the retreat as ‘Ndigbo Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow,’ and the sub theme as ‘Ndigbo In Geopolitics of Nigeria: The Case of 2023,’ said the event will be enriched with timely and educative lectures by experts. He noted that it would have, in attendance, Igbo at home and in the Diaspora.

He said that governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo), popularly known as the G-5 are also expected to attend the event to interface on their mission and vision.
