Igbokoda helicopter crash: Senator Faduyile commiserates with victims’ families

The Senator representing Ondo South, Senator Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, has commiserated with families of casualties in the Igbokoda helicopter crash in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Faduyile, in a condolence message described the incident as tragic and heartbreaking, saying the loss of lives in such a painful manner has thrown the entire senatorial district into mourning.
Newsmen have reported that a helicopter conveying personnel crashed in the coastal community of Igbokoda, on Monday morning, leaving several persons dead and others injured.
The lawmaker expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families, the Olu of Igbokoda, the Chairman of Ilaje Local Govt and the people of Ilaje, noting that the tragedy was not just a loss to the families but to Ondo South and the state at large.
He said: “I received with rude shock the news of the helicopter crash in Igbokoda that claimed precious lives.It was a black Monday for us in Ondo South. My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones in this unfortunate incident.”
The Ondo South Senator prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and for quick recovery for those injured and receiving treatment.
He also called on relevant aviation authorities, including the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), to launch a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash to prevent future occurrence.
The Senator urged the Federal Government and Ondo State Government to provide necessary support to the affected families and ensure that survivors get the best medical attention.
He further commended rescue agencies and local volunteers who responded swiftly to the emergency and helped in evacuation efforts.
“I stand in solidarity with the people of Igbokoda and Ilaje at this difficult time. May God grant the bereaved families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Senator Faduyile added.
