Teachers remain backbone of national development, says Fed Poly Ile-Oluji Rector, Ebeloku

By Steve Ovirih.

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, has congratulated Nigerian teachers on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, describing them as the backbone of national development.

In a goodwill message on Sunday, Ebeloku said teachers remain the most critical asset in nation-building, noting that no nation can achieve sustainable development without a well-motivated and empowered teaching workforce.

The Rector, who saluted the resilience and patriotism of teachers across the country, said despite daunting challenges, teachers have remained steadfast in moulding character and shaping the future of the Nigerian child.

He said: “Teachers are the heartbeat of our educational system. They are the silent builders of every profession and the foundation upon which our collective future rests. On this special day, we celebrate their sacrifices, dedication and unwavering commitment.”

Ebeloku noted that the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, under his leadership, would continue to prioritize teacher development, capacity building and welfare, stressing that quality education begins with quality teachers.

He called on governments at all levels, private sector and stakeholders in the education sector to invest more in teacher training, remuneration and provision of modern teaching facilities.

According to him, the theme of this year’s celebration is a call to reposition the teaching profession to meet global best practices.

He further urged teachers to remain committed to excellence, discipline and innovation, assuring them of the Polytechnic’s support in advancing technical and vocational education in the country.

Ebeloku wished all teachers a happy World Teachers’ Day celebration.
