Iji advocates Direct Primary for Ondo APC

Ambassador Olusola Iji has thrown his weight behind the clamour for Direct Primary in the forthcoming Ondo state All Progressives Congress (APC) Primaries slated for July 20th, 2020.

Amb. Iji was at the party’s national Secretariat earlier on Tuesday, the 17th July to obtain the Governorship nomination and expression of interest form. Organising secretary of the party, Emmanuel Iberido promised a level playing field for all the aspirants.

Amb. Iji told journalists and APC members in attendance at the media briefing that the direct Primaries approach will create a level playing field for all the aspirants and it will allow active and popular participation of the whole gamut of the party structure as well as the rank and file in Ondo state APC.
He said he is for Direct Primary and he is very much aware that other aspirants are equally rooting for the Direct Primary approach, thus the best thing for the party to do is to align with the clamor of the majority of the card carrying members of Ondo state.
Ambassador Iji while answering question on the Unity of the party in Ondo state assured that he is going to use his candidacy to unite Ondo state APC, stressing that the party requires a candidate who is experienced and who is a strong party man. He said the time to make members of APC in Ondo state to have a sense of belonging again is now, adding that when he emerges as the party’s candidate, he will reach out to all other members so that they can collectively build a government that will make good use of the input of party men and women.

Ambassador Olusola Iji promised to galvanise both human and natural resources of Ondo state to bring about huge prosperity that will benefit the good people of the state, noting that the agricultural sector of the state will be given a turn around and government will harness the state potential in agric and natural resources.

On the state of health, Iji said the response of the state to the pandemic shows that Ondo state really needs to improve the health sector.

Ambassador Olusola Iji promised the youths of Ondo state better package when he comes to government. He said he has chosen to rescue Ondo state from the throes of doldrums hence his resolve to come and use his own money to obtain the guber form, noting that the people of Ondo state will enjoy a new deal of socio economic growth under his administration.
