Institute of Security Nigeria’s investiture: Gen. Bajowa celebrates, installs Gen. Buratai as 2nd Patron of institute.

The first patron , Institute of Security , Nigeria , (IOSN) Prince ( Dr.) Gen. Olu Bajowa, CFR, has congratulated His Excellency, Gen. Tukur Buratai , former Chief of Army Staff on his investiture as the 2nd Patron of the institute . The investiture which held in Lagos on Saturday, 23rd November at The Faculty of Social Science Auditorium, UniLag, Akoka, had in attendance Prof. Rahaman Bello, Pro Chancellor , Tai Solarin University of Education , Barr. Adebayo Akinade, Deputy President and Chief Executive of the institute, Prof. Tunde Babawale, Provost, anti corruption Academy of Nigeria , who was the keynote speaker, The Vice Chancellor , University of Lagos and the host, Prof. Mrs.Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola and a host of others.

The onus fell on Gen. Bajowa as the first Patron of the organization to install the 2nd Patron , who was Gen. Tukur Buratai, a Diplomat per excellence and veteran in the field of security .

The Chairman of Awawa Communications Ltd, Gen. Bajowa, who is also the Jagunmolu of Ikaleland , while delivering the Gen. Buratai’s installation speech in his capacity as the 1st Patron of the security institute described Buratai as a security expert whose wealth of experience and expertise will undoubtedly inspire and motivate members of the institute to strive for excellence in security education and practice. “As a soldier, Gen. Tukur Buratai has consistently demonstrated exceptional bravery , strategic thinking and unwavering resolve . His leadership has inspired countless soldiers and officers and his legacy will continue to motivate future generations.”

He noted that the institute recognizes and celebrates the leadership and selfless service of the former Chief of Army staff , who as the 20th Chief of Army Staff of The Nigerian Army fought to checkmate Boko haram insurgency.

Gen. Bajowa congratulated Gen. Buratai , stressing that he embodies values of courage, integrity and loyalty. “As we install His Excellency Ambassador Gen. T.Y Buratai as our second Patron , we recognize his unwavering commitment to the institution’s mission and values. His Presence underscores his dedication to promoting security , peace and stability in our nation, ” Gen. Bajowa stated.

Gen. Tukur Buratai after he was presented the instrument of Patronage by Gen. Bajowa, noted in his acceptance speech that he was deeply honored to be recognized by the noble institute , stressing that he accepted the noble role of the second Patron of the Institute of Security, Nigeria, which has a senior Army General and senior citizen of Gen. Bajowa’s status as its first patron. ” I am deeply honored to accept this noble role as the second Patron of the Institute of Security in Nigeria . Today marks a significant milestone in our pursuit of safe and secure society.”

Gen. Buratai noted that the institute’s objective aligns with his unwavering commitment to security education , training and excellence .” Our shared vision is to strengthen the capacity of security and law enforcement agencies to ensure they deliver exceptional services.

“Quality and integrity are paramount . We must prioritize professional development and enhance manpower skills through cutting edge training and strategic partnerships.”

Going further, Gen. Buratai noted that collaboration must be fostered among security inclined sister agencies and government stakeholders , while reiterating that security must be everyone’s concern in Nigeria.

He pledged to support the institute’s initiatives and programmes as Patron, while advocating for policy reforms and resource allocation.

The former Chief of Army Staff maintained that he will continue to foster international cooperation and knowledge sharing . “Let us rebuild a secure Nigeria where citizens live without fear while prosperity thrives,” Gen. Buratai charges.
