The rank of massive support for Governor Akeredolu’s second term bid swelled on Saturday as the Araba of Ikale Land and oil mogul, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim publicly expressed his support for Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s come back bid in the forthcoming governorship poll in Ondo state. The event was the grand foundation laying ceremony of The University of Fortune, the brainchild of the Igbotako born billionaire business man and Cambridge and Havard fellow.

The University of Fortune along Igbotako /Omotoso road sits pretty on a huge expanse of land , promising a world class university on its completion. In his good will remark, Governor Akeredolu who came with his entire State executive members said Jimoh Ibrahim will get the title for the site of the university free of charge, noting that the Ondo state government is encouraged by the business man’s zeal to open his country home for global development and reckoning. He said Jimoh who is a doctoral student of Cambridge cut his teeth at the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile Ife, stressing that he and Jimoh are products of Great Ife and that is one fact that not even Jimoh Ibrahim can erase.

Earlier in his remarks, having taken the Governor and other dignitaries round the university site for sud turning ceremony, Jimoh Ibrahim said he is motivated to establish the university because of the need to encourage education as the road map for national growth and development. He said in his doctoral program in Cambridge his project is hinged on why capital projects fail in Africa. The business man observed that out of over forty projects that had failed in Nigeria, three of them in term of already expended fund is commensurate with our foreign debt. Ibrahim listed Ajaokuta steel, 2nd Niger bridge and Sure P as three notable failed projects from which our national Commonwealth had been unfortunately siphoned. He said data and statistics are key to the growth of our economy hence, the need for Nigerian undergraduates to be well grounded in statistics so that they can have the wherewithal to solve Nigerian problems.

While thanking Governor Akeredolu for coming, Ibrahim said we all should appreciate the managerial skill of the legal luminary who has not only successfully paid all the debts he incurred , but has also began and completed legacy capital projects across Ondo state. ” Mr. Governor sir, you have come to lay the foundation of this university in your first term, you shall come to cut the tape to commission this university in your second term. We know what is good for Ondo state, you are good for Ondo state for a second term.”

Barrister Ibrahim promised a speedy completion of the university in tandem with international best standard.
