Kwara State government has approved a temporary palliative measure for workers, following removal of petrol subsidy by the Federal Government.
The Head of Service, Susan Modupe Oluwole, disclosed this, yesterday, in Ilorin, the state capital, saying Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq directed that workdays be reduced from five to three days per week for all cadres of workers under the e civil service.
Oluwole directed all heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state to immediately work out a format indicating the alternating workdays for each staff under them.
The Head of Service, however, warned workers not to abuse the magnanimity of the governor, stressing that regular monitoring of MDAs by her office would be intensified to ensure strict compliance.
