NAPPS Day 2021: Regent of Ayeka bags award.

Another laurel was added to the plethora of recognition awards that have come the way of the Regent of Ayeka kingdom, Her Royal Highness, Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa as The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools ( NAPPS), Irele Local Government chapter dedicated a special one for the Regent while marking its 2021 NAPPS Day.
At the event in Irele, the headquarters of Irele Local Government Council, NAPPS Lectures were delivered by the duo of Prof. Francis Igbasan, Deputy Vice-chancellor, Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, OAUSTECH, Okitipupa, and Rev. Akinseye John.
Prof. Igbasan in his Lecture reiterated the need to correct the obvious imbalance in the education sector of Nigeria, stressing that a dysfunctional system can only produce half baked graduates that will not only be unemployable but could bring embarrassment to the national psyche. He noted that all hands must be on deck to correct the challenges in the education system.
While expressing his frank view in his Lecture, Rev. Akinseye congratulated the members of NAPPS over their efforts in complementing government policies on basic and post basic education in Nigeria. He noted that efforts must be made to ensure uniformity of teaching methodology among the private schools.
Also speaking at the event , the former Tutor- General, Okitipupa zonal Tescom, Chief. Boye Aroloye appealed to government to establish a standard Education Bank where the different tiers of government can float a joint account towards consolidating education in Nigeria.
The major highlight of the event was the presentation of recognition award to the Regent of Ayeka, Regent Oluyemi Bajowa , the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Awawa Communications Ltd, for her exemplary role in the development of women in the grassroots. The award was received on her behalf by Chief Gabriel Adebanjo Ayelomi.
While thanking NAPPS, Chief Adebanjo noted with delight that the kingdom of Ayeka and the palace of Lumure appreciate greatly the gesture and honor done on Regent Oluyemi Bajowa. He further noted that private schools have not only come to stay in Nigeria but are contributing immensely toward the growth of education in the country.
Also honored was the General Manager of Awawa 94.1 FM , Ayeka, Chief Oluwole Akinbo for his role in contributing to Mass Media development in the local communities of Ondo South Senatorial District.
Appreciating the NAPPS recognition, the Awawa FM General Manager, Wole Akinbo appealed to the Proprietors of Private Schools to partner with the radio station particularly during the Yuletide season as there are numerous Programmes that the station is set to roll out any moment soon to commemorate the beginning of the Christmas period.
Among the distinguished recipients of the NAPPS awards are the Ahaba of Ajagba, Oba Thomas Adesayo, the Odogbo of One, Oba Olorunsola Akinyelure, the Regent of Irele, High Chief Olarewaju Ayeromara , High Chief Tola Omogunwa and others.
