Olabode Omoyele advises Babachir Lawal over ADC primaries’ fall out
A strong stakeholder of the All Democratic Congress, ADC, Babachir Lawal has been advised to allow his democratic credentials dictate his next line of action having rejected the outcome of the ADC Presidential Primary as flawed. Giving this advice over the weekend in a media chat was Mr. Olabode Omoyele, a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC.
It will be recalled that the former Secretary to the Federal Government, SGF, Babachir Lawal left the ruling All Progressives Congress and joined ADC with the likes of Peter Obi, now Presidential Candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC. while Dr.Peter Obi had pulled out of ADC fingering lack of trust in the Presidential Primaries of the party, the likes of Ayatul Deen, banker and business man, Rotimi Amaechi, former Rivers Governor and Minister of Transport, Babachir Lawal and others stayed back in ADC insisting that the Presidential Primary of the party must not be skewed in favour of any particular candidate.
Reacting to the alleged flawed process of the ADC Primary, Babachir Lawal has condemned the exercise even as he indicated that he would no longer have anything to do with ADC.
Mr.Olabode Omoyele, who described Babachir Lawal as one of the leading light of developmental politics from Adamawa State charged him to retrace his steps back to his former party, All Progressives Congress because his impact as a national leader will be less felt in the opposition parties with emergency rag tag manifestos which they themselves hardly believe in.
He noted that Lawal is an experienced politician and technocrat who will be more valued in the ruling APC, hence the need for him to stage a frank return to the fold of the Progressives where his fellow compatriots at nation building are and are showing steady commitment to advancing the cause of nation building.
Olabode said his advice for Babachir Lawal’s return is hinged on his political strength and sagacity, adding that his position in Adamawa politics is left void since his exit into the opposition which appears lacking the courage of their conviction.
He added that political observers of the giant strides of the former SFG look forward to his leadership potential and his voice counts better in the ruling All Progressives Congress, under which party he had participated at the exalted office of the SFG.
