Prof. Faduyile sets the record straight on ‘Mandate arena’, reveals development plans for Ondo South

All Progressives Congress, APC candidate for Ondo South by-election, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, has revealed his progressive plan for the district when he gets to The Senate after the June 20th by-election. He made it clear that he will advance bills that will address challenges confronting Ondo South Senatorial District, noting that he will work with people of like minds to draw legislative attention to the challenges of ocean surge across Nigerian coastal communities particularly, areas in Ondo South whose people yearly lose homes to ocean surge, while adding that this will be possible through motions to draw attention to the climate change challenge.
Faduyile made this known while fielding questions as a guest on ‘Mandate Arena’ an online interface organized by Ondo State Civil Societies and Other groups.
Prof. Faduyile noted that Ocean surge affects coastal communities across Nigeria and worst hit by the surge in Ondo South are Ayetoro, Awoye and others whose homes are gradually been submerged by the surge. He said when he gets to the Senate, he will sustain the move to draw attention to the ocean surge challenge with a view to getting the executive arm of govt through the agencies concerned to come to the rescue of his people.
He noted that the major roles of the members of The National Assembly are to make Laws that will make life easy for Nigerians hence his readiness to hit the ground running when he gets to The Senate.
Prof. Faduyile noted that much legislative works have been done by the former Ondo South Senator, Amb. Jimoh Ibrahim CFR, stressing that he will look into bills which when passed will fast track economic development of Ondo South.
He noted that he is very particular about the condition of Federal roads that coursed through Ondo South, indicating that some of these roads need prompt and massive rehabilitation, adding that as the Senator to represent Ondo South , he owes it a duty to ensure that through legislative attention these roads get the face lift that they urgently require.
He said he will go for fast, purposeful and doable legislative strides that will address urgent local matters that will not have to take long scheduling at Committee level, saying the people of Ondo South need quick fix solutions to coastal erosion and flooding, electrification of rural communities and road rehabilitation, adding that the youths are also hoping for empowerment that will give them a sense of belonging.
Assuring the people of Ondo South, Prof. Faduyile maintained that he will leverage and support the projection of bills that will benefit the good people of Ondo South.
Talking about his core strong points that give him leadership conviction, Prof. Faduyile said he has led one of the major professional associations in Nigeria, Nigeria Medical Association, NMA at Lagos as Chairman and in Nigeria as the National President, adding that the success achieved at the helm of affairs while leading NMA is a strong conviction, maintaining that when he concluded his tenure at NMA, Ondo State Government appointed him as Special Adviser on Health Affairs, a position he deployed to introduce quality health policies such as the state health contributory scheme among others.
