Olabode Omoyele Congratulates Aiyedatiwa’s New Appointees, Charges Them On Service Delivery
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Mr. Olabode Omoyele, has congratulated the newly appointed Commissioner, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants announced by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, urging them to work in synergy with the governor to move the state to a greater level.
It will be recalled that Governor Aiyedatiwa, earlier in February, approved the confirmation and appointment of 32 officers as Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service. The appointments, which took effect from 1st February, 2026, also included the confirmation of Olusola Sunday Ajayi as Statistician-General and Dr. Charles Tunde Ojuolape as Auditor-General for Local Governments, subject to clearance
In a more recent development, early in week, the governor also approved the appointment of a Commissioner, three Special Advisers, 90 Senior Special Assistants and 910 Special Assistants. Erelu Taibat Yemi Oloruntoba was nominated as Commissioner for Special Duties, while Hon. Abimbola Fajolu, Chief Ade Adeniyi and Mr. Muyiwa Ogunyemi were named Special Advisers for Environment, Rural and Community Development, and Transport respectively.
Olabode, in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, described the appointments as well-deserved and a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to repositioning the state for greater efficiency.
He said: “I heartily congratulate the Commissioner, Special Advisers, SSAs and SAs on their appointments. This is a call to higher service and a mark of confidence reposed in you by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
“The task before you is enormous. Ondo people expect results. I therefore charge you to cooperate fully with Mr. Governor and key into his development blueprint, ‘OUR EASE’, to translate government policies into tangible benefits for our people.”
Olabode noted that the governor’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance through the appointment of technocrats and grassroots mobilizers across the 203 wards in the 18 local government areas are steps in the right direction.
“The governor has shown that he is ready to work with men and women of capacity. The new appointees must justify this confidence by raising the bar of performance, showing diligence, commitment and loyalty in the discharge of their duties,” he added.
He further commended Aiyedatiwa for sustaining cordial labour-government relations and for prioritising capacity building for workers across the state, saying such policies would enhance productivity and service delivery.
Olabode prayed for God’s wisdom and strength upon the appointees as they assume office, expressing optimism that their collective efforts would take Ondo State to greater heights.
The swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed officers is expected to hold on a date to be announced later.
