Peoples Democratic Party and the ruling All Progressives Congress have differed over their View of how far the nation has faired in the past two years.

While the party dislodged from power, Peoples Democratic Party feels the March 28th 2015 election was a scam masquerading as change, the ruling All Progressives Congress countered that the PDP brought the country to the valley of shame, which the Apc in its wisdom is trying to navigate the country out of.

In his reaction over the second year anniversary of the 2015 election, the spokesperson of the Makarfi group in PDP, Prince Dayo Adeyeye noted in Abuja that Apc sold Nigeria a scam rather than the promised change. He noted that things have never been this bad in Nigeria and for Nigerians, adding that it is unfortunate that the Apc led federal government was only interested in power and not on how to improve the economy. Adeyeye said indexes of failed government is obvious every where. In terms of economic growth, this government has not shown any flash of brilliance, therefore our economy is at its lowest ebb with the dollars fluctuating every day, Adeyeye said. He also maintained that the presidency has failed to show leadership, hence the discordant tune among the different power cells in the presidency, a clear sign that the presidency has been hijacked by an oligarchy who appear untouchable even by the President himself. Adeyeye of the Makarfi faction of the PDP said there is hunger in the land, a hunger so strong that it it is driving people to the hedge of suicide. While recalling the Jonathan days, Adeyeye reminded Nigerians that the economy was stronger and rebased and the dollars was not on this soar away over drive which poor economic planning has subjected it to.

The APC spokesperson however gently reminded Prince Adeyeye that he and his party members whose 16 years of misadventure in governance brought the nation to its knee are to blame, rather than pointing accusing finger at a government that is striving to bring the people out of the woods which the PDP had misled the people to.
The All Progressives Congress National Publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdull
Abdullahi said though Nigerians are people who forgive, but we shall not forget the years of locust that the Goodluck Jonathan’s reign was for Nigeria and Nigerians. He called Adeyeye’s attention to so many things that went wrong in those six years of PDP reign that messed up the economy and psych of Nigerians.

Abdullahi stressed that even if Nigerians should forgive, they will not forget how the PDP – Jonathan government scammed thousands of Nigeria over a non-existing immigration job in which five Nigerians lost their lives due to poor logistics for the recruitment exercise. He also noted that it was unfortunate that a member of a party which could not tell the difference between stealing and corruption was now pointing accusing finger at a government that is poised to remove traces of corruption the PDP foisted on the country.

Abdullahi pointed out that under the Jonathan government which Adeyeye so praised to eye heaven either out of mischief or a plain attempt to put the wool over our eyes, the only bold whistle blower, Sanusi, now Emir of Kano, was sacked for daring to raise concern over the fraud going on then at the NNPC, noting that right now whistle blowers are having field day exposing criminal under hand deals unfettered.

The Apc spokesman also noted that was it not for the laxity of the Gej government, the Chibok Girls kidnapped by the Boko haram militants would not have suffered the untoward fate they were made to suffer. The PDP led government indulged in foot dragging and conspiracy theory for so long a time that by the time they woke up from their reverie the Chibok Girls were far gone. He said no member of such administration should be taken seriously, noting that Dayo Adeyeye wanted to take advantage of Nigerians forgiving nature to pull the wool over our eyes on the embarrassing atrocities of the past government. Abdullahi also called Adeyeye’s attention to the unintelligent approach of the past administration to fighting the Boko haram insurgency. He said it was unheard of that a government committed to the security of the people will sent its soldiers to confront blood letting criminal insurgency with antiquated weaponry and would still come back to court-martial them for complaining.

Bolaji Abdullahi said even if Nigerians forgive PDP for all these atrocities, they will not forget the counter productive effect of such on the economy and welfare of the nation.
