Police Children School Celebrates 14th Passing Out as Mrs Audu Joyce appreciates school stakeholders.

It was another season of merriment and celebration at The Police Children School ( PSC) Okitipupa on Wednesday, 26th July, 2023 as the school marked its 14th Passing out Parade (POP) and graduation of its final year students , who are on their way to secondary school.

The event was witnessed by eminent stakeholders of the Police Force Education , particularly Chief Abayomi Akeremale, Retired Commissioner of Police ( CP) and former Force Education Officer ( FEO) Nigeria Police. Others in attendance were the DPO Okitipupa, SP Femi Edward and his men from the Division; Dr. Mrs . Oke, Proprietress Dia foto schools, who was the Guest Speaker; Mr. Yusuf, the PTA Chairman, Chief Erejuwa among others.

A colorful Police Parade was mounted by the graduands whose matching skills reflected the quality of training they have received as well as their competence in paying attention to martial details. The Parade commander effectively rolled out several matching orders while giving complimentary salutes in company with his colleagues to recognize both the State Commissioner of Police ably represented by SP Femi Edward and Retired CP Abayomi Akeremale .

In her address at the event, The Head Teacher, Police Children School Okitipupa, Mrs. Audu Jude Joyce, a Chief Education Officer ( CEO) noted with a sense of fulfillment that the event is a significant milestones in the lives of the outgoing learners. “We have gathered here to celebrate the 14th Passing out Parade of The Police Children School, Okitipupa. I extend a warm welcome to each and everyone of you and give glory to Almighty God for granting us the opportunity to witness the joyous occasion. ”

While congratulating the graduands , Mrs . Audu urged them to remain focused and dedicated to their studies as they moved on to their next phase in life. ” No doubt, this is a momentous step towards your future; the foundation we have laid for you will serve as a solid platform for your success, ” the Head Teacher noted.

Mrs. Audu appreciated the good thought of the Founding fathers of PSC Okitipupa, the stakeholders and their support so far not forgetting the supportive roles of the Force. Hear her : ” I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to The Inspector-General of Police IG Kayode Egbetokun, Commissioner of Police. Ondo State Police Command, CP Taiwo Olusola Jesubiyi, The Force Education Officer, DCP Umar Hadejia, Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Yemi John Oyeniyi, Area Commander ,Okitipupa, ACP Saliu Jimoh, the DPO Femi Edward, all Ikale Royal Fathers, Parents and well wishers. ”

She called for support of the stakeholders as she observed that the school yearns for adequate development, stressing that lack of perimeter fencing exposed the school to nocturnal invasion by criminal elements while absence of school bus makes after school hour exit by learners cumbersome.

Earlier in her lecture, the Guest Lecturer, Dr. Mrs. Oke noted that children deserve the collaborative attention of both parents and their teachers who serve in Loco Parentis during school hours, adding that a child who will grow to be a future leader must be allowed to have an all round development both in intellectual capacity and the psycho motor skills.

Dr. Oke, who is a retired Principal and school owner charged parents to allow their wards to rest well during the long vacation before requesting them to join summer camps or tutorials. She said one of the major challenges the society encounters is that parents have become too busy to keep necessary tabs on their children, yet the best time to observe evolving trait in any child is at the early stage of his or her development.

The Idepe born Force Education enthusiast and former Commissioner of Police, CP Abayomi Akeremale, RTD in his goodwill address traced the history of the establishment of the school, noting that while serving as FEO to Nigeria Police Force, he made a request to the then IG Sunday Ehindero to bring PSC to his own country home of Idepe Okitipupa, a request the then IG had graciously granted.

Chief Akeremale said he reached out to the then Ondo State Governor, Dr. Segun Agagu who expressly supported the idea , threw his weight behind it and requested then SUBEB Chairperson , now Ondo SSG, Princess Oladunni Odu to locate a site for Police Children School Okitipupa and provided block of classrooms for the Federal establishment . Chief Akeremale thanked the Headteacher for keying into the growth agenda of the school, while assuring her that the demands she has made shall be pushed forward to the appropriate quarters for necessary action.

The Passing out Parade featured cultural display by pupils of the school , choreography by learners from the kindergarten classes and a fund raising session.
