Princess Oluyemi Bajowa receives certificate of Regency in grand style, promises more development for Ayeka

The joy of the people of Ayeka kingdom knew no bound on Wednesday, the 12th February as they trooped out en mass to celebrate the investiture and official presentation of the certificate of regency to the regent of Ayeka , Her Royal Highness, Oluyemi Bajowa.
The certificate presentation ceremony and investiture of the regent of Ayeka kingdom , a two in one event held at the hall of the Okitipupa Local Government Secretariat , while a grand reception and entertainment of guests followed at the palace of Lumure at Ayeka Ule.
Barr. Morebise Esq , gave an opening prayer at the hall which was filled to the brim with well wishers from Ayeka, the Local Government staff and invited guests within and beyond Ikale Land.
While delivering his welcome address at the event, the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Council, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya said he is delighted that novel achievement have been recorded in the course of his tenure. Highlighting the novel and modest achievement, Adesanya, turned towards Gen. Olu Bajowa (RTD) and said the first time Jagunmolu of Ikale Land will step his feet on the council was during his tenure. This observation was greeted with loud ovation from the gallery.
Continuing, the council boss said during his tenure an Ikale born prince emerged the President of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, in the person of Prof. Francis Dayo Faduyile. ” The billionaire industrialist and Lawyer, Jimoh Ibrahim has also been here and here we are today, celebrating the investiture of the first female regent in Ikale Land, Princess Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa,” Adesanya noted.
While congratulating the Regent of Ayeka as she is being officially presented with the certificate of her regency, Adesanya charged her to use her goodwill and good office to champion the cause of development in her community, noting that the council has noted with delight her giant stride in the last one year of her regency.
The council chair also used the opportunity to appeal to the people of Okitipupa to imbibe the culture of hygienic living so as not to invite the scourge of Lasa fever which spread has become a health challenge in other places.
In his short address at the ceremony, the Director of Local Government Administration, Okitipupa Local Government Council, Engr. Babarinde B OM, said the presence of Gen. Bajowa was an answer to a significant prayer in the council. He appealed to the Jagunmolu of Ikale Land and Ojagbulegun of the source to assist the council in repairing the grader used in road maintainance works. He also stressed that it was their pleasure to have “Ayeka kingdom’s first couple” as their guests in the Local government council.
In his response, Gen Bajowa, the proud husband of the Regent of Ayeka, also congratulated the chairman of the council, Hon Adesanya whom he described as a young council administrator with focus. On the issue of the grader, he noted that anytime the council needs his assistance, they should feel free to reach out to him , noting that the council is our government at the grassroots and it is our collective responsibility to support it with everything within our means.
Gen. Olu Bajowa congratulated the in Regent of Ayeka whom he described as an amiable wife, a loving mother, a career lawyer, a community stakeholder and the loving regent of her people of Ayeka Ule. He said her stride is clear that she handles all responsibility given to her with finesse and royal grace peculiar to personage of royal blue blood . Gen. Bajowa, beaming with smile noted that he was delighted to associate with the people of Ayeka kingdom by marriage as his wife holds fort as their regent, while he holds the chieftaincy title of Ojagbulegun of the kingdom.
Major highlight of the event was the official presentation of the certificate of regency to Princess Oluyemi Bajowa by the chairman of the council , Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya.
In her investiture speech, the Regent of Ayeka kingdom, HRM Oluyemi Bajowa thanked the state government through the office of the Local government council chair for presenting her with the instrument of her Regency. She said about a year ago , the lot fell on her to assume the throne of her forefathers as the regent of the great Ayeka kingdom. While noting that it is a daunting task, she said the support of her husband and the cooperation of Ayeka council of chiefs as well as the prayers of her subjects have made the demands and beats of the regency a lot easier for her.
The regent stressed that her lofty dream for Ayeka is to ensure that development becomes the hallmark of her regency , noting that she plans empowerment for the womenfolk of Ayeka community.
It will be recalled that Iye Lumure Bajowa foundation, the NGO project of Regent Oluyemi Bajowa did the groundbreaking ceremony of a community based radio station, Awawa FM at Ayeka during the 2019 Ayeka Ule Day celebration. This and many more development agenda are in the offing for Ayeka kingdom courtesy of the Regent.
Earlier, a brief meeting was held at the office of the chairman where photo opp’ with the regent was taken. At the meeting were Omo’ba Adesanya, the council chair, the Regent, Oluyemi Bajowa, her husband, Gen. Olu Bajowa (RTD), the Majuwa of Moribodo Ilutitun, HRH. Oba Earnest Idepefo, the Oniju of Ijuodo, HRH. Oba Festus Olumoyegun, who himself was a former Chairman of the Local government about two decades ago and the Director of Local government Administration , Okitipupa, Engr. Babarinde.
At the grand reception which followed at the palace of Lumure, Ayeka, women folk and youths thronged the palace to welcome the regent and the chiefs.
A live band was on ground to serenade the atmosphere.
