Prof Dayo Faduyile steps down his guber ambition.
– Steve Ovirih.
Prof Adedayo Francis Faduyile has stepped down his governorship ambition and suspended his campaign for the Ondo state guber race which was activated under the Prince Dayo Faduyile (PDF ) campaign team.
In a press briefing in Abuja today, the immediate past President, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) said the decision to suspend his campaign was made after a wider and inclusive consultation with his political leaders within and beyond Ondo state.
Faduyile appreciate the support of every member of the PDF team and charged them to hold firm their unalloyed support for the continued reign of APC in Ondo state beyond 2020 and in many decades to come.
He noted in his statement that he was counseled by higher structure within the APC both at the national and state level to subsume his political ambition within the collective desire of all party men towards ensuring the continuity of All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Ondo state.
He also noted that as a medical practitioner who has been in the forefront of the national campaign to curb the spread of coronavirus in Nigeria, he has a moral burden to discourage excess gathering of people who are party men and women to forestall a spike in the community spread of COVID -19 in Ondo state, noting that his governorship ambition would require mass gathering and consultation which will contravene the social distancing safety protocol against COVID -19.
” Towards this end, I humbly announce the stepping down of my guber ambition in the forthcoming APC primaries and officially pledge my loyalty for the cause of enhancing the continuity of the APC led good government in Ondo state,” the statement reads in part.
Prince Dayo Faduyile’s Position on Ondo State 2020 APC Gubernatorial Ambition.
Having made a more comprehensive and inclusive consultation with political leaders within and beyond Ondo state, I have reasons to review my aspiration to be the flag bearer of our revered party APC.
Before I go further to discuss my political resolve and the reasons behind it, I want to appreciate the support of every member and the rank and file of the PDF team across the 18 local government council areas of Ondo State and beyond for their resilience, long-suffering and dedication.
The essence of our political campaign is to put forward a robust progressive agenda towards ensuring the great goals of developing our dear Ondo State. Based on this resolve, our campaign train had traversed the length and breadth of Ondo State at least three times, and our campaign coordinators have worked assiduously, strengthening our political reach and tentacles.
However, as a loyal party man who is well-grounded in the distinctive ethos of party loyalty and cohesive movement for the continued success of this great enterprise, APC, I have been counseled by the higher structure within our party to allow my ambition be subsumed within the collective desire of all party men towards ensuring the continuity of All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Ondo State beyond 2020 and in many decades to come.
Personally, my ambition to govern Ondo state, aside from attracting notable development to the State, is motivated by one singular desire: ensuring good governance piloted by APC.
Aside from the above, as a medical practitioner who as the immediate past NMA President, was in the forefront of the national campaign to curb the spread of COVID-19, I have a moral burden to discourage excess gathering of people who are party men to forestall a spike in the community spread of the virus. Further political meetings and consultation, which my ambition requires at this moment, are not greater than my desire to ensure a COVID-19 free and healthy Ondo State.
Towards this end, in compliance with the advice of our leaders, I humbly announce the stepping down of my gubernatorial ambition in the forthcoming APC primaries and officially pledge my loyalty for the cause of enhancing the continuity of the APC led good government in Ondo State.
I pledge to continue my participation in the strengthening of our party and work with our flag bearer for the success of APC at the polls on October 20, 2020.
I call on our esteemed supporters to work with me for our party’s success.
Thank you, and God bless.
God bless Ondo state.
Prince Dayo Faduyile (PDF).
