Osooro kingdom came alive with pump and pageantry on Saturday, 6th January, 2024 as Igbotako in the heart of Osooro witnessed men and women of substance across Nigeria, socialites who bristle and excite the Lagos social scenes , deep- pocket gladiators and celebs, who all bonded together to identify with and celebrate one of their own, a socialite per excellence and philanthropist by free will inclination, High Chief Bamidele Omosehin, who was singled out by the Paramount Traditional institution in Osooro kingdom, the Rebuja of Osooro, and conferred with the significantly rich traditional title of ‘ The Lisa of Osooro- the Prime Minister of Osooro Kingdom. ‘
The high octane traditional investiture had been preceded on Friday by the grand finale of the Bamidele Omosehin Foundation ( BOF) football competition in which mouth watering cash awards had been splashed on the winning team and the runner up.
The Bamidele Omosehin chieftaincy train first visited the Oniju of Iju Odo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Festus Olumoyegun at his palace, where he was given a royal welcome by Oba Olumoyegun in company with The Jegun of Idepe Okitipupa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adetoye Obatuga alongside other Royal fathers in attendance.
Earlier , the baritone- voiced prominent Yoruba bard, Chief Ajobiewe was on ground at the palatial residence of the celebrant to entertain with electrifying and superbly rich Yoruba chants which charged the atmosphere with the Omosehin family praise lyrics and bolsteing panegyrics .
The Lisa of Osooro ‘ designate’ and his delectable wife, Mrs. Lynda Omosehin were roused to a loud welcome on their arrival to the palace of The Rebuja of Osooro, Oba Gbadebo Bajowa.
The conferment rites featured traditional prayers by the Rebuja himself, and other Royalties present; there was also cultural display detailing the rich Osooro blend of dance steps and local folk songs and the investiture as well as unveiling High Chief Bamidele Omosehin as the Prime Minister of Osooro Kingdom .
In his goodwill speech, Oba Gbadebo Bajowa congratulated the new Lisa of Osooro, noting that Omosehin has a brand and a name that precedes him anywhere he goes. The Royal father said Lisa is a great traditional title given only to brave hearts who are imbued with wisdom, traditional panache, the can do spirit and enviable selflessness. While praying to the gods of the land to keep Omosehin and improve him in all his undertakings, he charged him not to relent from doing good and assisting the less privileged in the society.
A classy, elaborate and fantastic reception and entertainment of guests followed at the mounted marquee within the precinct of Manuwa Memorial College Iju Odo, where two different musical bands, a high life toast of Lagos social circle, Boye Best and ‘ Ayinde Ultimate, ‘ the fuji music tone – look alike of ‘ K 1 the ultimate ‘ took their turn to entertain guests and sizzled up the fanciful and rich atmosphere as choice wines and assorted menu did the round in the party.
The Lisa of Osooro ,High Chief Bamidele Omosehin, while speaking with thepolity.net on the fringe of the Royal gig thanked God for the success of his investiture as the Prime Minister of Osooro Kingdom, noting that he is happy and excited to have been found worthy of such great honour by the Paramount ruler of Osooro Kingdom, pledging his unalloyed support and commitment to the growth of Osooro land. Prodded further to unveil his agenda as the new Lisa, he said,” My agenda is simply going to be an improvement on what Bamidele Omosehin Foundation, BOF , has been doing in the time past. We are going to improve our support for the indigents and the less privileged in our land and we are going to make them benefit handsomely from the long list of our patronage to our people. ”
Among the guests who expressed their view in a chat with thepolity.net on the fringe of the reception, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, Special Adviser on Health, Ondo State Government and Engr. Philip Adeolu, saluted the new Lisa as they noted that his goodworks over the years had singled him out . Prof. Faduyile noted that Omosehin is not a stranger to Ikale culture and he quite understands the responsibility his new title has placed on his shoulder, adding that he is always ready to be of assistance to his people. Engr. Philip said Omosehin is a class mate and they have come a long way, stressing that he is a unique gentleman, a successful business man and a man with sterling leadership qualities.
