Regent Oluyemi Bajowa turns the sod at the foundation laying of Lumure Market Ayeka.

Another index of communal development under the Regency of Her Royal Highness, Princess. Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa , the Regent of Ayeka was recorded today, Friday, July 2nd in the heart of Ayeka Kingdom as the foundation of an ultra modern Lumure market was laid.

 

 

The Regent whose efforts at attracting development to the community in the past two years have been yielding commendable output was accompanied to the foundation laying by palace chiefs, women association in Ayeka and prominent Ayeka indigienes .

In her speech at the foundation laying ceremony of ‘ Ayeka Oja Oba – Lumure Market’, the Regent said it is high time Ayeka had its own modern market like other towns and the foundation laying ceremony done is a signal that by the grace of God the market will be completed in a timely fashion. She noted that Ayeka’s Lumure market when completed will be an ultra modern market and this will advance the course of commerce and trade not only in Ayeka kingdom but in the neighboring communities.

Her Royal Highness, Regent Oluyemi Bajowa said, ” the first 25 women that will pick forms for market stalls will receive twenty thousand naira each to assist them in stocking their shops with whatever whares they sell. Thereafter, women that will join my Cooperative scheme, aimed at providing fund assistance for market men and women, will also benefit from fund access for businesses through the cooperative .”

A cross section of market women who expressed their view at the event told thepolity.net that Regent Oluyemi Bajowa is a rare kind of community leader and a true daughter of the Late Lumure Ayeka , Oba Bode Ayelomi , for sustaining the good name and legacy of her father. The women said the Regent of Ayeka has put smile on a lot of faces in the town and with the Cooperative society she planned to float, adequate fund for business purposes will flow and by so doing Regent Bajowa will raise hundreds of Ayeka market women and small scale industry owners to a higher economic pedestal. They prayed God to continue to bless Regent Bajowa with good health and prosperity on the throne of her forefathers.

Earlier in her speech, Vice President , Human Rights Movement Ayeka Branch, Mrs. Kemi Lijofi said the market is a veritable means of economic empowerment for the women folk and when our women are empowered , they become active partners who will provide financial assistance for their husband. She said times when women were seen as mere house wives , a pure metaphor for idle women and economic burden is over, thanking the Regent of Ayeka for her unceasing support for the women of Ayeka kingdom.

Also expressing her view in her speech, Mrs. Ayeyowa who congratulated the women of Ayeka described Regent Oluyemi Bajowa as a mother indeed who is very passionate about the financial sustainability of the market women of Ayeka kingdom. She said The Ayeka Cooperative scheme , brainchild of Regent Bajowa will no doubt support the women of the kingdom a great deal.
