Revitalization of Olokola blueprint: Olabode commends Gov. Aiyedatiwa
A special commendation has gone to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa by an All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain, Mr. Olabode Omoyele, who described the Governor as an untiring lover of The Sunshine State in terms of opening up the state to economic revival.
Olabode gave this commendation in his reaction to the high powered business parley between Gov. Aiyedatiwa and the Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, which held in Akure on Monday, 15th June, 2026.
It will be recalled that the Aliko Dangote Group had earlier fostered a mutual business talks with Ondo State Govt with the objective of opening up Olokola to a Free Trade Zone arrangement (OFTZ) where there will be the establishment of Deep Sea Port, Blue Marine Economic Zone, chemical firms and specialized industrial outlets, but the process got bogged down in administrative bottlenecks.
Olabode said the resumption of talks between Governor Aiyedatiwa and Alhaji Aliko Dangote signals a very positive outlook for Ondo State in general and Ondo South in particular, noting that had this arrangement as planned had materialized before now, the population of Ondo South youths looking for job would have reduced drastically. He said all well meaning people of Ondo State should join hands with Gov. Aiyedatiwa to move Ondo State forward.
“We are excited that revitalizing the economic growth parley on Olokola between the Nigerian industry giant, the Aliko Dangote Group and Ondo State Government has kick started on a viable note. Giving that Gov.Aiyedatiwa is driven by a bid to attract development and The Dangote Group is willing to do business in an enabling environment where strict government position on business policy doesn’t stifle mutual and bilateral relationship, the Dangote Group will open Ondo South massively to the path of economic growth never recorded in the area.
” We applaud Gov. Aiyedatiwa and we believe that his business growth policy will encourage the Dangote Group this time round to consider Ondo State as a viable business environment to expand his business initiate,” Olabode added.
He said Olokola Free Trade Zone ( OFTZ) will buffer the ‘Our Ease Agenda’ of Gov.Aiyedatiwa and make life economically super abundant for the greater percentage of the people of The Sunshine State.
