The nation mourns as Presidency announces Abba Kyari’s passage

-Steve Ovirih.

Nigeria has been thrown into a mourning mood. The ravaging coronavirus disease has claimed yet another death, this time a high profile personality; he is the Chief of staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

The Presidency in a statement signed by Special Adviser Media to the President, Femi Adesina, announced the passing of the Chief of staff, Abba Kyari on Friday, the 17th April, 2020.

Late Mallam Abba Kyari who tested positive for coronavirus on March 23rd went into self isolation on March 29th . He was receiving treatment at an isolation center in Lagos until his death.
Early April, he had shown sign of recovery as it was widely reported that he had said he was hoping to resume to his desk anytime soon.

Late Mallam Kyari, according to the statement by Femi Adesina died as a result of complications arising from coronavirus. The statement which expressed the grief of the presidency over the sad loss of the Chief of staff stated that burial arrangement will be announced soon. As at the time of sending this report, his age could not be ascertained.

Abba Kyari unarguably was the most powerful Presidential aid of this administration.

His death further confirms the havoc coronavirus pandemic has caused all over the world and how it has shrunk the size of prized human resources material the world over.
