Tinubu Swears in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as New Chief Justice*

President Bola Tinubu on Friday swore in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the Chief Justice of Nigeria. The ceremony took place at the State House in Abuja, following Tinubu’s return from a brief work trip to France.

Justice Kekere-Ekun’s appointment comes after the retirement of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who stepped down on Thursday upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70.

The President congratulated Ariwoola on a “successful public service career,” praising his impactful leadership and contributions to Nigerian jurisprudence.
