The Nigerian Army says its latest coordinated operations across multiple regions are aimed at strengthening civilian safety, following a series of raids, arrests, and rescue missions carried out within the last 24 hours.

According to military authorities, the operations targeted insurgent movements and supply chains in several states, with troops acting on intelligence to prevent further attacks on vulnerable communities. In Borno State’s Gwoza axis, soldiers reportedly laid an ambush on suspected terrorists near Kuranabassa village, recovering weapons and ammunition believed to have been intended for future assaults.

In a separate effort to disrupt logistics networks, troops working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force intercepted vehicles along routes in Yobe State, arresting suspects and seizing materials authorities say were being transported to support insurgent activities. Similar action was recorded in Kogi State, where a checkpoint operation led to the interception of ammunition and the arrest of alleged couriers.

Security operations also extended to the North-West, where clearance missions in parts of Katsina State resulted in the destruction of hideouts identified as operational bases for armed groups. Officials say dismantling these structures is key to limiting the ability of criminal elements to regroup and launch attacks on nearby settlements.

In Plateau State, troops responding to distress calls rescued 12 civilians trapped during an ആക്രമ, with injured victims evacuated for medical care. Authorities say the swift intervention underscores the military’s focus on rapid response to threats affecting local populations.

Across other regions, including Rivers and Taraba states, troops maintained pressure on criminal networks, uncovering illegal refining activities and arresting suspected collaborators. The army says these sustained efforts are designed to reduce threats nationwide and reassure residents that security agencies remain actively engaged in protecting lives and property.
