Woman nabbed for beating 3-year-old to death, dumps body in bush

A woman who beat a three-year-old girl under her care to death in Amikwo, Awka South Local Government of Anambra State has been arrested.

It was gathered that the woman allegedly beat the child to death and dumped her corpse in the bush.In a viral video, the body of the dead child was found in a bush in Amikwo, Awka.

According to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Anambra Command, the woman has been arrested and she has confessed to the crime.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesman of Anambra State Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu said NAPTIP arrested the woman and handed her over to the police.

Ikenga said that Mrs Chinelo Udogu, who was suspected to have flogged a three-year-old child to death and dumped her body in a bush at Amikwo, Awka, has been arrested.

The PPRO also stated that the case has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for a discretion investigation.
