Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, is currently presiding over the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting.
Daily Trust reports that the SEC meeting is coming after several months of a political crisis between Aiyedatiwa and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The impasse was occasioned by the absence of Akeredolu, who had been long absent from the state due to his underlying health challenges.
The governor had returned to Nigeria in September after spending several months in Germany, attending to his health and has since been recuperating in his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
However, the details of the agenda of the meeting were still unknown as of the press time.
It was gathered that the meeting was currently being attended by members of the cabinet which included commissioners and special advisers to the governor.
A commissioner and member of the exco, who briefed our reporter earlier before going into the meeting, said their resolution would be made known later.
President Bola Tinubu had last Friday summoned the political actors in the state to a meeting in Abuja where it was agreed that Aiyedatiwa should continue to perform his duties as deputy governor.
Also, Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday dismissed the impeachment suit Ondo lawmakers filed against Aiyedatiwa after they withdrew the suit.
