As Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa administers oath of Office on the elected Local Government Council Chairmen across the 18 Local Government Areas on Monday, 17th February, 2025, a prominent APC stakeholder, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, has congratulated all the lucky winners of the January 18th Council poll in Ondo State .

Prof. Faduyile, former Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Health, in a special release on Monday morning, which copy was obtained by thepolity net, noted that Ondo State has officially joined the list of States in Nigeria that have kick-started the ideal of popular political socialization and participation at the third tier of government with the election of Council Chairmen, their vice Chairmen and the 203 Councillors across the wards making up Ondo State, saluting Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for achieving this feat within a short time as year 2025 has begun.

He said with the swearing in ceremony of the Council bosses , who are now to function in their executive capacity , active political participation is afoot across the local government areas in Ondo State .

The erudite scholar and Medical Administrator charged the 18 Local Government Chairmen to evolve new methodologies in political administration that will buoy political development and economic growth of their respective council areas , stressing that with the autonomy in the third tier of government, the era of going cap in hand all the time to source for fund to groom and grow the local government areas is over.

Prof. Faduyile charged the Council bosses to think outside the box in their bid to generate the much needed allocation in their respective councils, stressing that there will be need more than ever before for governance accountability on the part of the elected representatives of the masses at the grassroots either as Council Chairmen or ward Councillors. He said it has been decades since Legislative governance had happened in the Council areas, imploring the Council Chairmen to work hand in hand with their elected Councillors to avoid unnecessary political friction in the council areas.

While congratulating all the Council Chairmen, using his Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Andrew Soga Ogunsakin of Okitipupa Local Govt Council as a point of contact, the former National President , Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, pray God to imbue them with adequate flow of the wisdom of Solomon and all round sound health as their tenure begins.
