In a major strike, Nigerian soldiers have rescued 86 civilians who were kidnapped by Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists. The victims, including men, women, and children, were seized while traveling on the Damatruru-Buratai-Biu road. The successful operation has given hope to a region long terrorized by such attacks.

The rescue happened after troops discovered that terrorists were blocking the road and abducting people. Soldiers quickly moved in, engaged the militants in a gun battle, and forced them to flee. This brave action stopped a potential tragedy and freed the captives from a dire situation.

In a follow-up raid, the soldiers located the terrorists’ hidden camp. They destroyed 11 makeshift houses used by the militants and recovered a significant cache of weapons, vehicles, and supplies, severely damaging the group’s operations in the area.

The military’s success did not end there. In a separate but related move, troops arrested 29 people accused of being key suppliers to the terrorist group. They were caught transporting critical items like fuel, medical supplies, food, and even new tyres for gun trucks.

Authorities hailed the operations as a significant victory. They confirmed that no soldiers were lost during the missions and praised the troops for their courage and skill. The military high command has ordered its forces to maintain the pressure on the terrorists.

This double victory—freeing the kidnapped and cutting off the terrorists’ supplies—deals a heavy blow to the militant groups. It shows a strong effort to not only rescue civilians but also to break the network that keeps the terrorists armed and operational.
