Rivers Government halts fixed marriage

The Government of Rivers State has allegedly halted a planned marriage organized by Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere for his autistic son.
According to news from Portharcourt, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere of Omega Power Ministry (OPM) successfully married off his adopted autistic son, Aboy, on March 29, 2026, to a “woman of God” having offered mouth watering promise to the couple to the tune 10 of milli0n Naira cash, a house, and a future 20 million Naira bonus.
The marriage was dogged by widespread controversy over the offer of huge fund to provide incentive that will stimulate the marriage.
The government of Rivers State cancelled the marriage on the ground that the autistic Aboy is not in his right senses and so didn’t consent to the marriage with his senses.
Government also noted the woman in question is old enough to be the boy’s mother and thereby making it a child abuse.
Government is of the opinion that the woman in question didn’t marry the autistic boy out of love, rather she married him due to those listed financial and material incentives, which most women looking for marital convenience would fall for.
The government thereby cancelled the marriage and declared it a nullity.
Effort to reach Apostle Chibuzor of Omega Power Ministry for his reaction was still being made as at the time of filing in this story.
