Anthony Olasele backs Dayo Faduyile, says he is preferred choice for Ondo South

By  Steve Ovirih.

An Ilaje born – Lagos based banker and Public Affairs analyst, Mr. Anthony Olasele has described Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, All Progressives Congress, APC Senatorial Candidate for Ondo South by-election, as the best among the choices contesting the Senate position. He reiterated this fact on a prime time call-in radio programme on Tuesday.

It will be recalled that Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has slated the Ondo South by-election for Saturday, June 20th across all the polling units in the district.

In the radio programme which was monitored by thepolity.net, Mr. Olasele noted that since 1999, Nigeria has returned to Democratic governance and this has made Nigerians to have an input in governance through the right to vote their candidate of choice both at the Executive and Legislative levels of governance. He stated further that Democracy has evolved over time and it is getting better with the independence of the judiciary and the entrenchment of fundamental human rights which allow for freedom of speech, association, right to worship and the opportunity of making free choices during electoral process. He maintained that no matter the challenges that civilian government can have, it cannot be compared to military governance which frowns at representative approach to governance.

On his assessment of the political parties that will be fielding candidates for the June 20th by-election in Ondo South, Olasele stated categorically that the APC candidate, who is a Professor of Pathology and Forensic Medicine and who has shown verifiable leadership antecedent at the helms of affairs both in Lagos and Nigeria respectively as Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, NMA Lagos State and National President, Nigeria Medical Association, Prof. Dayo Faduyile is the most preferred candidate among the choices that will be on the ballot box.

He said Prof. Faduyile is not a newcomer politician who could get carried away by the allure of office, more importantly because he did not just joined politics as a greenhorn. ” Prof. Faduyile, I can say with conviction, has all it takes to pick up the legislative responsibility of representing Ondo South from where our amiable Ambassador, Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR left it. He has a vantage point to start from in The Senate, first, because it is an APC led Senate and his predecessor has made very good showing with track records, which he as an APC Senator, when elected, will continue with ease of support based on accumulative experience as a Medical Administrator and as a former cabinet member in Ondo State Government. So, leadership at a high level of Governance and Public administration is not a new thing to Prof. Faduyile; he will not go to The Senate as a bench warmer and like Amb. Jimoh Ibrahim has made the district proud, he already has a legislative record of achievement to improve on at The Red Chamber,” Olasele pointed out.

Going further, he noted that one thing stands the Ondo South APC candidate out: he is accessible at all times and he does not affect the air of ‘elitist disconnet’. “Call Prof. Faduyile anytime, he will pick your call and offer you succour no matter your challenge. Never a personality who does not return calls no matter how busy his schedule.

“It is this kind of representative the district deserves because he has listening ears and unlike any relatively unknown politician just coming up, he is a Prince of a notable palace in Ikale land, who has mingled with his people and knows fundamental needs and demands of his people in Ondo South,” Olasele emphasized.

While calling on voters to come out in their good numbers to vote for Prof.Faduyile, Mr. Olasele said legislative oversights that can attract development to Ondo South can be better fast tracked by an APC Senator and that should be a major concern of the good people of Ondo South.”

Mr.Olasele said voters should vote massively for APC come June 20th and should maintain peace and orderliness before, during and after the Ondo South by-election, stressing that a vote for Prof.Faduyile is a vote for progressive development of the district.
