Olabode expresses grief over Senator Meroyi’s death

Igbotako born All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain and Lagos Real Estate tycoon, Mr.Olabode Omoyele has commiserated with the entire Araromi Obu kingdom and particularly the family of Meroyi over the death of a great son of Araromi Obu, pan Nigerian Political gladiator and former Ondo South Senator, Distinguished Senator Samuel Omololu Meroyi whose death became public knowledge on Wednesday morning. According to report gathered, Senator Meroyi died at 76.

Olabode Omoyele while condoling Senator Meroyi’s family noted that the Alliance for Democracy Senator from 1999 to 2003 lived well and left a formidable foot print in the sand of time.

Recall that Senator Meroyi was also in the House of Reps under the flagship of the Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN during the botched 3rd Republic as he was voted to represent his Federal Constituency in 1983, an indication that Senator Meroyi came a long way in the political sojourn of Nigeria.

Olabode noted that Senator Meroyi was indeed a leader whom his people of Araromi Obu are proud of and who helped showcased Ikale land during his time at the Senate, adding that the deceased was a refined politician who was straight and pointblank in his political approach.

Describing him as a straight forward and dynamic politician, Olabode said Senator Meroyi in his leadership styled never hid behind a finger as regards his political stand point, noting that he was devoid of hypocrisy which has become the hallmark of how people now play politics.

“When he was leaving Alliance for Democracy, he left no one in doubt about his next political choice and made it clear that his previous party as at the time he was leaving had lost compass. A lot of politicians would nt have found the courage to dissect the condition of their party as they would be reprobating and approbating but never would Senator Meroyi hide behind one finger about his standpoint and this his fans, followers and critics alike are never in doubt of as regards his political leaning.

“His death has come at a time when his presence is still needed and his counsel as a candid sage would have been more appreciated but we surrender to God Almighty, who alone decides entry and exit time for all mortals. We are going to miss Senator Meroyi but his legacies will continue to speak glowingly of his impact,” Olabode maintained.
