The Principal of Comprehensive High School,Ode Irele in Ondo South Senatorial District, Mr.Patrick Olokuntoye has commended Ondo South Senator, Distinguished Senator Prof.Dayo Faduyile OON on his ‘Back to School -Distribution of notebooks’ to Junior Secondary School,JSS1 students across community secondary schools in Ondo South.

The school administrator gave this appreciation on the Assembly of the school while welcoming the Back to school team to his school. He noted that Senator Faduyile has shown by this gesture that he is a book inclined fellow who is committed to ensuring learners in the hinterland communities get necessary support as the new session begins. “As a young teacher decades back, I worked under Baba Faduyile, the Abodi of Ikale, father of the Senator, who was a school administrator then and we learnt a lot from him as a model in discipline and diligence. Dear students, it will interest you to know that our Senator’s mother was also a School Principal when she was in service; so, that the Senator has brought books to support Jss1 students is not a surprise as this only reiterates the fact that he is a bookish person as a Professor.

“He is a man of many parts, an academic, a pathologist, a politician and our Senator. I thank him for this gesture as I understand it is across Community schools in the district. God bless him and we hope this is not the last phase as we still expect more and we want our Senator to consider a considerable constituency project in our school; when this is done,it becomes a legacy structure that will be a constant reason to appreciate him in this school and in the community,” Mr.Olokuntoye noted.

While encouraging the learners, the Principal said, “Coming to school, staying in classes, writing notes and following due diligence in learning pay. That is what has paid Senator Faduyile. So, I charge you to stay in class, don’t jump the fence, leaving school when you should be in your class.Be like Dayo Faduyile so that as future beckons we can have among you successful career persons like Distinguished Senator Prof Dayo Faduyile,” he enthused.

All the Junior Secondary School,J1 students of the school benefitted from the exercise books distribution.

Among other schools visited in Irele Local Govt are Akotogbo Community High School,Akotogbo, Community High School,Omi, Jowiri Grammar School,Ajagba.

The team which was also at Ese Odo Local Govt visited both upland and coastal community secondary schools among which are Community Secondary School,Kiribo, Apoi National High School,Igbotu,Ijaw National High School,Arogbo,
St.Arenibaro Memorial High School,Amapere.

Students who received these books thanked Senator Faduyile and prayed for his success in The National Assembly. A young learner, Timowei Kala who spoke with the polity.net said he came to school with one exercise book but now he has many more.”My mother will be happy and she will pray for Oga,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Principal of Community Secondary School, Kiribo in Ese Odo Local Govt, Pastor Mathew Ogooluwa has described the distribution of books to students by Senator Faduyile as commendable, noting that it is an applaudable gesture reaching out to the hinterland schools.”We appreciate the Senator’s effort, nevertheless we want the exercise books to reach all students and even teachers for our lesson notes.I understand the motive behind the distribution which is to ease the burden on parents of entry level students which is very good.Let all our politicians emulate Senator Faduyile’s gesture of support. If all elected officers flood schools with learning materials, parents will feel relieved.”

At Jowiri Grammar School Ajagba, the Principal,Mrs.Folasade Lebi thanked Senator Faduyile for factoring her school into the distribution exercise, noting that students will not just write on the notes but an impression has been made in their minds that one who is thoughtful gives back to the society.

The Ahaba of Ajagba, HRH Oba Thomas Oluwole Adesayo who spoke with the polity.net said he is very impressed by the Senator’s back to school outreach particularly as the exercise extended to communities across Ondo South and not in the main stream towns. He said in the hinterland are children who wants to go to school but have less privileged parents and they must be encouraged to go to school because among them are the Senators and Governors of tomorrow.
