The former Chairman , Pension Reform Task Team, Mr. Abdulrashid Abdulahi Maina has been bundled back to Nigeria through the efforts of trans national inter agency collaboration of the International Police ( INTER POL). He was picked up in Niamey, Niger Republic after he has been declared wanted by a court of competent jurisdiction hearing his case on alleged corruption and looting of pension fund.
Recall that Abdulrashid Maina was granted an administrative bail and a Senator of the Federal Republic, Senator Ali Ndume stood surety for him only for Maina to jump bail and left the country under a very hazy circumstances, consequent upon which the Judge hearing his case commuted his surety to prison.
Commissioner of Police Interpol, CP Garba who took charge of Maina’s arrest in Niamey flew him back to Nigeria on Wednesday, the 3rd of November having completed all the documentation for his extradition.
Inspector General of Police Adamu saluted the commitment of the inter agencies and their collaborative efforts in bringing home the fugitive of the law.
In a Statement signed on the IG’s behalf by Force Spokesperson, Frank Mba, the Inspector General of Police affirmed that Nigeria has zero tolerance for corruption and every corrupt member of the public shall answer for their crime.
