Adeleke Launches Campaign Council as Governance Meets Election Season.

Governor Ademola Adeleke is set to inaugurate a 52 member campaign council today in Osun State, a move that signals the formal blending of governance priorities with election planning ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship poll.

The body, known as the Imole Campaign Council 2026, will be unveiled as the central platform to coordinate political strategy, mobilise supporters, and align stakeholders across the state. The inauguration, taking place in Osun, marks the beginning of intensified political activity as the election calendar draws closer.

According to officials, the council is designed to function as both a planning hub and a decision-making structure, bringing together politicians, professionals, and grassroots actors to shape the administration’s re-election bid. The initiative comes as the incumbent government seeks to consolidate its record while preparing for electoral scrutiny.

Leading the council is Professor Wale Ladipo as chairman, with Senator Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi serving as director-general. Other key appointments include Barrister Kolapo Alimi as deputy director-general and Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi as spokesperson, alongside a wider network of committee heads.

The structure also assigns specific roles to various actors, including media coordination and inter-party engagement, in what officials describe as an integrated approach to campaign management. Observers say such arrangements often reflect efforts to balance political outreach with ongoing governance responsibilities.

With the inauguration taking place now, months before voters head to the polls, attention is already turning to how effectively the administration can maintain service delivery while pursuing electoral goals. Analysts note that the coming weeks will test the government’s ability to manage both tracks without compromising public expectations.
