The Ondo state civil service will be positively repositioned in accordance with the global best practice. This formed the basis of the parley held today between the state Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and the members of the state workforce at the Governor’s office, Alagbaka, Akure. The meeting was called by the newly sworn – in Governor to allow him deliberate one – on – one with the Civil servants of the state, who last collected salary seven months ago. The Governor while craving for the understanding and cooperation of the owed workers appealed to the striking Doctors and nurses to call off their industrial action, promising to look into the issue of the backlog of unpaid salaries by the past administration with a view to resolving the crisis amicably. Akeredolu said he sympathized with the work force of Ondo state, noting that dialogue rather than strike will resolve the issues on ground. He said the Civil service structure of the state requires repositioning so that the state could have a compliant and proactive civil service structure. He also maintained that moving Ondo state forward right now requires the collective effort of both the governed and the government.
