The Prince of Ikale from Ikoya, the cradle of Ikale Land and immediate past National President , Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Prof . Francis Adedayo Faduyile, who also double as the Deputy Director General ( DGG) South for Akeredolu campaign Council, has congratulated Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu over his reelection and the impressive outing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the October 10th , 2020 poll.

In a statement personally endorsed by Prof. Faduyile at the palace of Abodi of Ikale, he said he is pleasantly delighted by the heart warming support of the people of Ondo South for Governor Akeredolu’s reelection, noting that the essence of the massive vote cast for the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa APC mandate reinforced the general acceptance of the APC flag bearer in the October poll.

” Let me first and foremost congratulate our Governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the successful outing of our party last Saturday and the victorious emergence of the Governor as the winner of the election. His victory is a confirmation of his widespread acceptance across Ondo State and a testimony of the Governor’s giant strides in his first term in office. I equally congratulate the Deputy Governor elect, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa whose Local Government polled the second highest votes on the 10th October.

” Having said that , I want to thank all our people particularly in Okitipupa Local Government for a great improvement on their previous performance at the 2016 Governorship election ; we have all shown that we know where our fortune is better served,” Faduyile stressed.

Continuing, he said the electoral process has been free and fair devoid of violence , ballot snatching and squabbles, appreciating Gov. Akeredolu’s commitment to the peace pact.

Prof . Faduyile said the Ondo State election has further confirmed that Democracy has come to stay and it is blossoming in Nigeria. He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for consolidating their grips on election management as shown in the Ondo poll.

On the issue of other contenders to the office of the Ondo State Governor, Prof. Faduyile said no matter the number of candidates and contenders , only one winner can emerge and since
the good people of Ondo State have loudly announced their unalloyed support for the continuity of the good works of Akeredolu’s government, everybody , including other contestants should join hands to move Ondo State forward, noting that the election is over and the time to cooperate with the Government to fast track development in Ondo State has started.

” You will recall that Governor Akeredolu has a blue print for the economic growth of Ondo State. This was the more reason we all clamoured for his second term because we don’t want this development and planning phase to get cut short mid way. If our Governor had embarked on an IGR drive that had moved our revenue from the range of six hundred million to 2.5 billion , putting Ondo State within the bracket of highly developed economies, you have no idea how far the Gov. Akeredolu administration will go in his second term to buoy and further stabilise the state economy.

” In his first term we had the Linyi Industrial Hub at Ore and the industries at the hub have generated jobs for our youths and generated revenue for the state. Thus in his second term, as he has promised , we look forward to the execution of the Deep sea Port, “Port Ondo ” which will not only grow our local economy in Ondo South but will put the state on the global map for special reckoning,” Faduyile added.

On the things he would want the Governor to do differently in his second term, Prof. Faduyile said the major challenge facing Ondo South is the electricity challenge. He said the Governor is aware of this and the Governor has shown interest . ” I believe the Governor will pull the necessary influence to make light to come up again in Ondo South Senatorial district,” Prof. Faduyile noted.

“As the Governor begins his second term, I congratulate him most sincerely and pray that God will guide him and make him enjoy robust good health and fulfilment in office,” Faduyile’s statement reads in part.
