APC’s five year rule is a wanton waste – Uche Secondus

– Steve Ovirih.

National Chairman, People’s Democratic party (PDP) has knocked hard on ruling All Progressives Congress for frittering all that was left of the goodwill the PDP left behind in government. The Rivers Politician whose lot it is to pilot the affairs of PDP noted that he doesn’t begrudge APC’S celebration of five years in power but the reality on ground doesn’t really call for any kind of celebration.

He noted that rather than fight corruption, the present administration has surrounded itself with characters whose activities require the urgent scrutiny of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, adding that human rights has terribly nosedived under APC that prided itself as masses party.

Secondus said rather than roll out the drums and celebrate , the party in power should be circumspect in thinking deeply about the causes of armed banditry in the north and processes and methodology to curb the new terrorism which armed banditry has posed in states like Sokoto where 74 people were recently killed and in other states like Niger and Katsina where bandits have almost sacked a quarter of the state.

Uche Secondus noted that the people of Nigeria who voted APC as an alternative deserve good welfare and an economy that will alleviate their poverty and not otherwise.

Reacting to the PDP Chairman’s view, APC’s national publicity secretary, Lanre Isa Onilu said Uche Secondus has failed in his bid to put the wool over people’s face on the large sized failure his party recorded while in power, stressing that Secondus’ jaundiced view does not deserve being taken seriously. Onilu said it was understandable that Uche Secondus is battling the out of power syndrome, thus his position on APC could not have reflected anything better. He however asked Nigerians to keep the faith with APC as the party is poised to bring Nigeria out of the thick wood of debt and mismanagement that PDP’s years in government has put the nation.
