Dayo Faduyile’s Governorship bid receives boost in Akoko

All Progressives Congress, (APC) Governorship bid of PROF. Adedayo Faduyile has received a huge boost in Akoko, northern senatorial district of Ondo state. The immediate past President , Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) was on a tour of the four local government areas that made up Akoko Land, namely Akoko south east, Akoko south west, Akoko north east and Akoko north west. The consultation by Prof Faduyile, a top notch APC stakeholder in Ondo state and a leading Governorship candidate to Akoko, afforded him a good platform to present his master plan for the progress of Ondo state if the APC leaders give him the opportunity by giving him their block votes at the forthcoming APC primaries in Ondo state.
While assessing the person of Prof. Faduyile, Pa Bamidele Oyedele , leader of Akoko Land Forum noted that he is first and foremost impressed by the fact that Prof. Faduyile is a young and dynamic leader, adding that he is also a Prince, a personage with an impeccable root and background. Mr. Ale Adebisi, another front line leader said the first time he came across the name Faduyile was when the coronavirus pandemic started spreading in Nigeria. Mr. Adebisi said the steadfastness of the former NMA President as he went from one media house to another to give media awareness about the pandemic attracted him to Dr. Faduyile, noting that he is quite impressed to meet him in person and he is ready to work with others to give him the APC mandate.
In the opinion of Mr. Sema Oguntolade from Ogbagi Akoko, Prof . Faduyile’ s candidature is commendable; he however demanded to know PDF’s blueprint for Ondo state. He noted that the people of Akoko are ready to vote him as long as his blue print is sellable and it factors how Akoko Land will recover from years of underdevelopment and serial abandonment by successive governments.
Mr. Adeola Adeniyi , Chairman generator services in Ondo state said he is associating with the person of Prof. Faduyile because he belongs to the younger generation and the older ones in Politics have failed the people.
In his remarks, Prof Faduyile thanked the APC rank and file in Akoko Land for honouring him at the consultation with their presence, pledging that if he becomes the Governor of Ondo state, he will not forget the level of trust the people of Akoko Land reposed in his candidacy and his ability to deliver for the greater good of the greater majority of the good people of Ondo state.
He said it is quite obvious that the people of Akoko have been abandoned over the years, noting that unlike other Governors, he will not abandon Akoko. Prof. Faduyile said he passes through Akoko route to Abuja regularly and the major connecting routes of Akoko Land to the neighbouring Kogi state is an eyesore. He promised massive construction work on the major Akoko high ways at the appropriate time. He however said for development to come the people have to join hands and push the right candidate, stressing that he is presenting himself to them as the right candidate with the necessary leadership antecedent and verifiable potentials.
On his campaign policies, Faduyile said the time is ripe for Ondo state to discourage over dependence on white collar jobs by our employable youths; he stressed that there is need for government to provide adequate incentives for massive youth empowerment programme in agriculture, trade and small and medium scale businesses. He assured the people of Akoko Land that his government will give empowerment to the youths of Ondo state because the huge noise of unemployment is becoming deafening in the land, adding that we are all sitting on a keg of gun powder if our youths , our so called leaders of tomorrow are not gainfully employed.
Prof. Faduyile stated that we human being engage in politics for three things: benefit for our community, general wellbeing and personal gains, adding that any government that falters in ensuring the first two for the people has failed the social contract. He promised that his government will give the health sector of Ondo state a required face lift as major communities do not have a primary health care facility. He told his audience that as a medical doctor he knows the challenge of the people as regards provision of modern health care facilities.
Assuring the APC family in Akoko of his genuine desire to end poverty in the land and making renewable energy the lot of Ondo state rather than relying on hydro electricity which has become archaic and has failed to engender economic growth among the artisans , Prof Faduyile charged the party faithfuls in Akoko to vote for him at the APC primaries, stressing that he has come to establish with them a good social contract which he will not deviate from when he emerges the Governor of Ondo state.
