Do not reduce Christmas to celebration of winingnj and dining alone, Akeredolu urges.

  • The Governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) has urged christian faithfuls not to reduce the yuletide season to a mere celebration of eating, drinking and indulging in fanfare as the season calls for a reflection on the purpose of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
    The Governor gave this charge at this year’s celebration of carol and bible lessons which held at the Dome, Alagbaka, the state capital.
    Choir group drawn from different cities across the state gave special rendition of Christmas songs and anthems.
    His Excellency , the Ondo state Governor read from the book of Isaiah 61, verses 1 to 11. He noted that it is expected of Christians to see this season not just about indulging in the excitement of its festivity , rather we should engage ourselves thoughtfully about the real essence of the birth of Jesus.
    Gifts were also offered to special people at the event to show them love at this special season from the state government.
