DSS releases suspended Ogun LG chairman

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday released the suspended chairman of Ijebu East Local Government Area (LGA) of Ogun State, Wale Adedayo, from detention.
Adedayo was detained last Friday after honouring an invitation by the DSS.
The suspended chairman was arrested after he levied an allegation of corruption against
the Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun.
Adedayo had accused Abiodun of withholding the statutory federal allocations due to the twenty local government areas of Ogun state.
The state government had also denied the allegation during a press conference which was held in Abeokuta, the state capital.
A report said that Adedayo was grilled for several hours at the DSS headquarters in Abeokuta after which he was put in detention before he was eventually released.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and human rights activist, Femi Falana, last week called for the release of the suspended LG boss from the DSS custody.
