Eid -El Kabir celebration: Olabode tasks muslims on piety and sacrificial giving
As Muslims across Nigeria join other adherents across the globe to celebrate the festival of sacrifice, Eid-El Kabir, prominent Ondo South All Progressives Congress, APC stakeholder, Mr. Olabode Omoyele has described the celebration as one of the major pillars of Islam. Congratulating Muslims for the grace to celebrate the Eid in good health, he said the season calls for gratitude to God for his safety and protection.
Olabode Omoyele in his Congratulatory statement noted that the whole essence of the festival is hinged on sacrifice which Allah himself provided, stressing that the celebration reinforces giving and helping people who are in need.
He said the country will grow far better if those who believe in God , who understandably are in the majority, imbibe piety and sacrificial giving.
Olabode noted that piety goes beyond showmanship as it requires total reverence and devotion to God, clarifying that people who are devoted to God steer clear of the intent to make other people’s life unbearable and uncomfortable. While affirming that Islamic religion is a religion of peace, he charged the faithful to let this time tested understanding ring out so that those whose understanding of the religion of peace has been terribly corrupted and adulterated can hear in clear terms that Allah is not a supporter of either violence or hypocrisy.
Olabode insisted that piety in Islam is total and unadulterated, stating that Allah in all sincerity does not require any human squad to stand up and champion a cause that requires physically engaging in a fight for him. He stated that Muslim clerics should challenge and discourage the narrative that encourages some adherents to get sold on the idea of wanting to violently indulge the act of fighting for Allah as such homily has continued to breed extremism.
He called on Muslim faithfuls to give sacrificially in this season of celebration and beyond as he maintained that there is an unsettling increase in the number of the underprivileged in the society.
“Let us celebrate the Eid with love and sacrifice for those who do not have and let us realize that by giving sacrificially we are helping a lot of people who are badly living through lack and salvation,” Olabode said, praying Allah to accept the ‘Ibadah’of all the faithful.
