Faduyile salutes Nigerian children, says future belongs to them

By Steve Ovirih.

Ondo South All Progressives Congress, APC by-election Senatorial Candidate, Prof.Dayo Faduyile, OON, has affirmed that the future belongs to the children whose Special Day is celebrated every May 27. Congratulating Nigerian Children in an official statement, the Professor of Pathology and Forensic Medicine said celebrating our children is a very important thing as the Day creates in the mindset of these young ones a sense of belonging and an assurance that the society thinks specially about them.

The Ikale born crown Prince said with the glow and sparkle in the eyes of these young ones who are celebrated nationwide today, it goes beyond conjecture that the system needs to plan well for their future.

Going further, Prof. Faduyile said while the paradox ‘the child is the father of the man’ holds a sensitive truth, the father who hopes in his old age to relax and benefit from the child who would have become a man, has a greater responsibility to play in the life of the child for such dream of a comfortable old age to materialize.

Admonishing parents to give their children a very good upbringing, Faduyile said Yoruba people in their wit would say, ” a child who is not built into a responsible adult, in his adulthood, would sell off a house that was formidably built.”

He maintained that every parent sees their children as their future, their end time /old age care giver, adding that beyond this supposition and expectation, there is a strong need to create a formidable foundation at the cradle so that when these children morph into adulthood, the parents can rest and relax while the society can also enjoy peace.

He stressed the fact that the society has changed from what it used to be decades back, encouraging parents to create time to know their children well and nurture them in fear of God on daily basis. While stressing that parents are very busy these days with all manners of economic activities to make both ends meet, Prof. Faduyile implored parents regardless of their tight schedule to create time to observe their children and create intimacy that will give the children the confidence to open up to them on their fears and challenges on daily basis.

Advising the children, the Ondo South Senatorial by- election candidate charged them not to join bad gangs in school and not to allow anyone to pressure them into any untoward activity that can end up tampering with their focus on their education. He stressed that children should live Godly life and follow the treasured path of the well bred ones which both the Bible and the Al Quran teach .
