Gbegudu, Ayebusuwa, Fayemi, Akinruntan win APC House of Assembly ticket as Jimi Odimayo wins Reps ticket.

As all Progressives Congress ( APC) primaries held across Ondo South Senatorial District over the weekend to elect the parties candidates for the State House of Assembly and House of Reps , winners have emerged from the shadow poll which held between Thursday and Friday.

In Okitipupa Constituency 2, Hon. Gbegudu maintained his ticket as he recorded an overwhelming victory at the primary. However, reverse was the case for the member House of Assembly , Okitipupa Constituency 1, Hon Akintomife Akinrogunde who was walloped by a new entrant to the Assembly contest, an Ondo State APC youth leader, Hon Chris Ayebusuwa, who better 22 votes to deny Hon. Akinrogunde , who had 13 votes, a return ticket to the State Assembly as APC candidate . The female aspirant in the Assembly contest in Constituency 1, Mrs. Kumuyi came a distant third .

In Ilaje Constituency 2, a female aspirant , Princess Olawunmi Fayemi has emerged winner of the Assembly ‘s primary election and will be the APC flag bearer in the General poll. She beat her closest rival , Hon Babatunde Omoboye . Also, Ondo State House of Aseembly’s Paliamentary Secretary , Hon Abayomi Akinruntan retained the party ‘s ticket as he emerged the winner of the election in Ilaje Constituency 1.

Meanwhile, at the Irele / Okitipupa House of Reps primary of APC which held at the hall of Stella Maris College, Okitipupa , on Friday, Hon. Jimi Odimayo from Irele recorded the highest votes to clinch the APC ticket among five other aspirants . The aspirants and the votes they recorded are : Kola Akinmosin nil, Dele Akinmulewo 1, Albert Akintoye 14, Muyiwa Daramola 17, SegunAyerin 18, and Jimi Odimayo 64 votes.

The Returning Officer , Alex Kalejaye, while announcing Jimi Odimayo as winner of the shadow poll , thanked all the delegates for their cooperation and appreciated the effort of the officers and men of Nigeria Police for maintaining order at the venue of the exercise.

Jimi Odimayo while speaking with the thepolity . net after the decalaration of his victory said he appreciate God for the success of his emergence at the poll and he salute the courage of his aspirant colleagues whom he said did not lose as he stressed that his victory is a collective success for the party in the constituency, adding that together the part members will work for the success of the part in the General election in 2023.
