Gen.Bajowa, wife, Regent of Ayeka congratulate Ayeka community on Ejo festival.

The Jagunmolu of Ikaleland, Prince (Dr.) Gen. Olu Bajowa and his wife, Her Royal Highness, Oluyemi Bajowa, the Regent of Ayeka Kingdom have heartily congratulated the Lumure – elect of Ayeka kingdom , His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Ayeyowa, the palace Chiefs and the good people of Ayeka as the ancient community begins the celebration of the culturally rich Ejo festival , the year 2024 edition.

Ejo traditional festival in Ayeka kingdom has been celebrated for over a century and it is the celebration of the people which makes for their return to Ayeka , particularly for sons and daughters of the town , who have gone to sojourn in distant places. Ejo, it will be recalled has spiritual significance as the gods of the land reunite with the people annually. The traditional undertone of the festival is underpinned by the special purification seen in the “taking of the ram to the river” by the initiates having procured the Monarch’s prayers and blessing and the eventual severing of the head of the ram as well as the king and his kinsmen’s convergence at the community hall ( Ogwa Ayeka).

The Ojagbulegun from The Source and the Regent of Ayeka in a statement jointly endorsed by them to identify and celebrate with Ayeka people on Ejo festivity which was obtained by thepolity. net , indicated that Ejo in Ayeka is a specially celebrated tradition and it is about integration as people who are from Ayeka but are not residents of the town all come together to celebrate and to check on their people’s welfare. The statement maintains that the presence of the mystique seen in the display of masquerades infixes the signature of reverence on Ejo celebration.

The statement says further that Ayeka is central in the heart of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Awawa Communications Ltd, Gen Olu Bajowa and the Ayeka royalty and Regent , Princess. Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa, as the couple of exemplary royalty assured the good people of Ayeka that they will continue to support all matters that border on the development of Ayeka kingdom.

Gen. Bajowa and the Regent of Ayeka equally congratulated as well the Lumure -elect as he celebrates his first Ejo festivity on the stool of his forefathers while wishing him many more Ejo celebrations in Ayeka kingdom .

The Ejo festival began in Ayeka on the 7th, 2024 November as it started with the celebration at the palace of the Lumure -elect. The royal celebration takes two to three days at the palace of Lumure before it begins to move from one quarter and family to another.

The Ebi Lulaire royal family of Ayeka , the Regent of Aiyeka’s family will celebrate Ejo from 13th to 14th November, 2024.
