Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has embarked on a major construction work in Akure, the Ondo state capital. The decision of the state government to embark on this massive road construction work, the Governor had hinged on his electoral promises to the good people of Ondo state.

Of note is the opening up of Oke Ogba and Gaga area, both communities have suffered untold hardship as their routes had not been motorable in decades.

At Gaga, the construction work, a 6 kilometer project had widened the once narrow and muddy foot path which had made life obviously unbearable for the people of the community. The Gaga route expansion now links Idanre easily for the road users.

According to the site Engineer, the project should have been completed by now but because their mandate is not to just put down a shoddy job, they are waiting on the rain to subside a little so that latest by November the entire 6 kilometer asphalt laid road would have been completed according to specifications.

As for Oke Ogba, the road construction work has been completed and the once unmotorable axis of Akure is not just wearing a new look but is fast becoming a delight for motorists, commercial vehicle operators and Okada riders.

Governor Akeredolu had said the road construction projects are not limited to Akure as the state government is on the verge of delivering the first ever fly over bridge at Ore, the commercial nerve center of Ondo state.
