Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is planning to install three new monarchs in the state and grant them the Staff of Office. The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, who stated that:
1. Oba Sakiru Oyewole Akanni Oyelere, the Onifiditi of Fiditi, will be coronated and presented with the Staff of Office on Wednesday, 3rd July, 2024.
2. Oba Cornelius Abiola Taiwo Oladokun will be coronated as the Alaawe of Awe and presented with the Staff of Office on Friday, 5th July, 2024.
3. Oba Titiloye Oyekanmi Sunday, the Elempe of Tapa, will have his coronation and receive the Staff of Office on Monday, 8th July, 2024.
This move adds to Governor Makinde’s ongoing efforts, which over the past five years have seen the installation and coronation of more than thirty Obas and Baales across Oyo State.
