Let’s stay indoor to curb covid 19 spread – Omotola Emaye

The Arogun of Idepe-Okitipupa and Oba Biripo of Ikale, Ilaje and Apoi, High Chief Omotola Emaye has lend his voice to the “stay at home ” campaign of the Federal Government aimed at curbing the community spread of the novel Coronavirus disease.

The legendary Biripo maestro noted that the strict adherence to the stay at home order of government is the surest way of preventing the coronavirus from spreading through communities like a raging wild fire, adding that while staying at home will have adverse economic effect on individual economy, it will be more disastrous for our communal wellbeing if by any display of negligence or disobedience, we allow ourselves to contract the virus which cure or vaccine remains unknown to the world.

Chief Emaye who is also the Afilugboye of Okitipupa gave this advice in an exclusive media chat with thepolity.net at his residence.

He said the lockdown and stay at home order of the state government has affected everybody, but the stay at home instruction, he noted, is for our own good. Chief Omotola Emaye equally said, musicians, celebrities and entertainers are worst hit by the stay at home phenomenon as all social engagements, parties and outdoor activities are cancelled or put on hold, adding that if the virus is contracted by one, between five to ten people are sure to contract it, thus a wilful disobedience of the charge by our government for us to be indoor could have very dire consequences.

He said no matter how hard the situation is now, we just have to endure it and not only that , we should maintain appropriate social distancing while we wear our face masks regularly.
Chief Emaye maintained that one lesson everyone must learn about the Coronavirus incidence is the fact that there is God and he rules over all human affairs, adding that humanity has deviated from God’s plan and design hence this pesticilence and its attendance physical, financial , social and economic inconveniences.

When the polity.net asked the musician the effect of coronavirus on his planned sixtieth birthday, Chief Omotola Emaye said it threw spanner in the plans already put in place as regards the array of activities lined up to celebrate his sixtieth birthday anniversary. Chief Omotola turned sixty this year April and the grandfianle of a weeklong celebration of the anniversary, that would have brought a convergence of “who is who” in the field of music and captains of industry to Okitipupa , billed for Saturday, April 25th could not hold because of the intrusion of coronavirus disease in our body polity.

” However, I thank God to be alive from cradle till sixty years of age. It’s not a child’s play and it’s a huge indication of God’s love for me.

” When I look back to how I started , my hustles and the grace of God that has taken me this far, all I just want to say is God, I am very grateful!

” We could not roll out the drums and fete the public and make merry on the epoch birthday celebration, but we are alive! The gift of life is the most important thing because we will still celebrate many more years after the exit of coronavirus,” Chief Emaye said.
