NMA charges Doctors to resume work

– Steve Ovirih.

Nigeria Medical Association has directed doctors who have one labour dispute or another with their management and have downed tools on this basis to resume work immediately.

NMA in a press release In Abuja on Friday gave this directive, asking its members to shun industrial action of any kind for now and gave the indication that the umbrella body shall take over negotiation on behalf of its members with their respective management.

The President of NMA, Dr. Dayo Faduyile while giving this indication in a press briefing in Abuja noted that the Coronavirus pandemic is a major challenge that requires that Nigerian doctors are not found wanting at this particular period when the world is facing the major threat of its outbreak.
Dr. Faduyile called on the Federal government to make available all the necessary equipment across the nation’s health facilities which would make the job of doctors less cumbersome for them in this particular period of time.
