Olabode Omoyele congratulates Tinubu, all democrats on Democracy anniversary
All Progressives Congress, APC stalwart, Mr.Olabode Omoyele has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the third year anniversary of his government. He also extended his warm democratic greetings to all State Governors, Federal and State Legislatures who are marking their third year in office across Nigeria.
It will be recalled that May 29th marked the official handing over date which marked the beginning of the ongoing democratic administration although Federal Government has earmarked June 12 officially as Democracy Day. The May 29th still indicates the official day of tenurial commencement for most elective offices in Nigeria.
Mr. Olabode Omoyele, in an official congratulatory message personally endorsed by him, noted that President Tinubu has consolidated Democracy in Nigeria and can best be described as the father of Modern Day Nigerian Democratic experience, while noting that the President has injected reforms that has changed the Nigerian Democratic narrative.
He said President Bola Tinubu is a Democracy enabler and activist who among other comrades were in the trenches in the terrible days of the military administration of Nigeria and he paid his dues for Democracy to blossom.
Olabode noted that though reforms introduced at the beginning of President Tinubu’s administration appeared harsh on the masses, these reforms have long term benefits that have already begun to put smiles on the faces of Nigeria, noting that prices of staple foods have crashed in Nigeria compared to what obtained three years ago when the President just resumed to office.
Olabode said fuel subsidy removal in particular and floating of foreign currency became a very difficult new government policies, yet fuel subsidy removal needed to end permanently so that the loopholes used by those who were fleecing government money using the subsidy as conduit pipe could be blocked. He added that except for challenges from the international oil benchmarking outlook, fuel scarcity has become a thing of the past in Nigeria and with sustained turn around maintained (TAM) of subsisting oil production and supply facilities in Nigeria , better days are ahead as regards drawing benefits from the fuel subsidy removal effort of the federal government.
Olabode called on all democratically elected officers across the states of Nigeria, who are governing the people at the sub national level to allow their governing policies to yield economic stability and comfort for their people, adding that since the extant fuel subsidy removal of the Federal Government has come to stay, there has been a steady increase of monthly accruals to state from the federal government’s allocation formula.
He also called on the Nigerian Military structure to support the Federal Government by their commitment and loyalty to the GCFR and President Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu, noting that insecurity in Nigeria requires being dealt with militarily and permanently.
