Olabode Omoyele says Prof. Faduyile will be a quality replacement for Jimoh Ibrahim, salutes latter’s UNO election victory
Ondo South All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain, Mr.Olabode Omoyele has described Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, as a very fit replacement from Ondo South to complete the term of Amb. Jimoh Ibrahim in The 10th Senate.
News has it that on Sunday, April 24th ,2026, APC coordinated Primary election was held across the 66 wards making up Ondo South Senatorial District. According to the result announced by the Senatorial Returning Officer, Hon.Gbenga Osedele at the Stella Maris College collation venue, 22,818 valid votes were accounted for out of which Prof. Dayo Faduyile garnered 16,312 votes to emerge winner of the keenly contested shadow poll.
Mr. Olabode Omoyele in his reaction to the outcome of the By-election Primary congratulated Prof. Dayo Faduyile whom he described as a thorough bred party man with a dyed -in -the wool Progressive inclination, adding that Prof.Faduyile belongs in the league of the unique class of ‘APC old timers’ whose political antecedent is traced to the hey days of Action Congress,AC which political ideology had expanded over time to becoming the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nigeria.
In the congratulatory statement personally endorsed by Mr.Olabode, and made available to newsmen, he noted that Prof.Faduyile aside being an heir and crown Prince of one of the premier and notable palaces in Ondo South, the Ikale born Professor of Medicine is a well bred ‘Omoluabi’ who has been an enviable model for the youths of the district.”Prof. Faduyile’s emergence at the Primary election is a good news indeed and obviously, he will be a perfect and quality replacement for the Igbotako born out gone Ondo South Senator and now Nigerian Ambassador to The United Nations.
” We are happy to say Ondo South has eminently qualified people to fill any elective office at any given time and everyone who showed interest in the political effort to replace Amb. Jimoh Ibrahim in the Senate was eminently qualified. With the victory of Prof. Faduyile however, it is a very credit worthy stride as the replacement for the out gone senator will be coming from the same Constituency as the out gone Senator; we must salute the party members and voters for their smart, wise and discretionary votes which affirms a logical alignment with the non written code that will not make the Constituency of the out gone Senator feel shortchanged, ” Olabode reasoned.
While wishing Prof. Faduyile smooth success in the June 20th,2026 Ondo South Senatorial by-election, Olabode called on all the good people of the district to support him with their votes, adding that the former National President of Nigeria Medical Association will make Ondo South Proud following the enviable footsteps of Amb.(Sen) Jimoh Ibrahim in The Red Chamber.
In the same vein, Mr.Olabode Omoyele has extended his warm and hearty congratulations to the Igbotako born billionaire business mogul, politician, University Proprietor and Head of Nigerian Diplomatic Mission to The United Nations , Amb.Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR, on his election as the Chairman of Budget and Administration, United Nations. The election which held early in the week saw other contenders withdraw for the candidacy of Amb. Jimoh Ibrahim from the African bloc.
Olabode said Amb.Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim has over the years made his homeland proud in his different endeavours and he is capping it at The United Nations as Head of one of the significant Committees of The New York based International Organization. He said Nigeria, Ondo State, Ondo South and the entire Ikale nation are proud to identify with the success of Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim in The United Nations, stressing that as in his previous engagement in The National Assembly, the Nigerian Ambassador will also write his name in gold with his diplomatic strides abroad.
