Chief Olusola Oke , a cross over politician from Alliance for Democracy (AD) to All Progressive Congress (APC) and a staunch APC stakeholder from the southern senatorial district of Ondo state has vehemently taken the sail off the wind of an alleged planted story in The Vanguard News paper that he is on his way back to the fold of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) a party he left few years back.
Chief Oke, while debunking the defection rumour condemned the style of journalism that ignores the basic ethic of the profession which is premised on balancing a story by hearing from the party concerned. He noted that journalism, a noble profession should not be subjected to the whims of those whose stock in trade is pure sensational writing.
Chief Oke(SAN) observed that the story was planted by somebody who simply assumed he can second guess his intent, noting that the writer failed woefully in his guesswork as he is not planning to defect from APC regardless of the fact that defection is the trend among politicians in recent time.
Oke while reassuring his horde of supporters of his steadfast commitment to progressive politics and the growth of APC in Ondo state, nay Southwest said he doesn’t belong in the class of politicians who for personal interest believe the APC led Federal government has not fair better in the past three years.
cautioned Editors of news outfits to make sure their writers and reporters do not drag the professionalism of the media in the mud.
